HIST: NON-BEARDED Historics

From: HIPSource@aol.com

Greetings,

The primary purposes of HIPSource are to track historic irises are in commerce
and to refer people to places who sell the special irises they are looking
for.

HIPS is the only AIS section which studies and seeks to preserve irises of all
types. Thus this office is interested not only in bearded irises, but also in
beardless irises, and in Iris species, bearded and beardless.

I am actively seeking information about nurseries which sell older beardless
and species irises. Assisted by Ellen Gallagher, I made headway last year on
an assay of sources of historic Siberians, but I am interested in hearing
about all reputable sources of other beardless irises as well. And if you have
had a bad experience, I need to hear about that, too. In

I am preparing my annual newsletter and outreach mailing. If you have any
information on this subject, now is a real good time to tell me. And I would
be very appreciative of your help.

Thank you.
