Dear Talkers
I do hope I have got the right subject heading but have lost the
directions pro tem. Yesterday thru the post box came news of yes
another irs book but this time produced locally. The author and
artist is Barbara Jeppe and her watercolours are exhibited in
galleries throughout the world including USA. The blurb is on the
slightish side but gives details of species, iris in history and
there are several water colour illustrations with descriptiosn of
buds and roots etc. The publishers are Umdaus. Its an absolute snip
at R8000.00 if you want a subscription copy but goes down to
R275 for the mere mortal edition. I am somewhat torn, as I wd
dearly love to get Bill Shear's book and one or two others but feel
one really should support local talent. Book only comes out in
February so have time to ponder.
