When people ask why all the labels on the Iiris ( as well as almost all
other plants in yard), I tell them that their name is there so that when I
talk to them I can address them by name--when talking to people, one
addresses them by name-- so that the Iris plant will know who I am talking
to--- ( so far, none have talked back!!!)
That usually stops them cold!!!!! Everyone knows I'm plant crazy anyway--
A friend in the Iris club lives up in the woods on a windy gravel road--her
front yard has many huge boulders and pine trees in it--she has zillions of
plants all over, with a name tag--about 3x4" on everything!!!!! She was
out working one day when a new neighbor was walking by--and asked her if
her yard was a Pet Cemetery? Now--she pushes the tags down so that they
do not show as much.
Jan--we had an exchange student from Arhus--several years ago--she said our
weather here was quite like home--(but her family did not grow flowers)
Carryl in western Montana- Zone 3-snow and more snow but not much sticking
except on the hills around us--one ski area opened last weekend!!
STILL NO BULLETIN HERE !!
