One thing brought to mind is that at one of the national display gardens in
Denver [I think it was the Townsend's Garden]  They had even named the rocks
in the garden.  The names were based on the shapes.

One of my pet peeves is that when someone goes to all the work on their
garden and invites the public in to view and they don't know the names of
the particular cultivars that they are growing.  On one tour I was on last
spring one gardner had a lovely Japanese iris in a pond.  A lovely delicate
white with 6 falls and just the tinyest pencil line on the outer edge of the
falls in hot pink.  I asked her the name of her Japanese iris and she
replied that 'Japenese iris' was it's name.  OH WELL!
