I've never grown Iris seedlings, but I used the regular 4' fluorescent
fixtures to grow over 1200 assorted perennials last winter. I put one "cool"
white, and one "warm" white light bulb in each fixture and it worked great.
Apparently, this is supposed to work better than the Grolux bulbs, and at a
fraction of the cost. They worked for me.
