I picked up a pair of fixtures. For the fixture that is going
over the work bench I picked up a pair of Phillips "agro-lights" [I
think that's right] The local supermarket has a couple of different
GE lights intended for plants. Are all plant bulbs the same? For the
other one I just got a pair of cool white lights. The price for the
plant lights was around $6 for each versus less then $3 for both of the
other two tubes but both sets claim a life of 20,000 hours or just a
little under forever for my uses.
It was mentioned that the light should be kept low and then
raised with the growth of the plants. I guess I'll cobble together
some sort of stand so I can lift the plants up to the lights instead.
Thanks for all the tips. If nothing else at least I'll be able
to see what I'm doing in the basement. The saving in bandages will be
well worth it-)
