Hi Jan and all,
So Jan , you are going to wait patiently for Lily My Love to increase...No
Problems, I will be happy to supply a bit in your swap list...:) It is very
pretty. I have ordered Crazy For You this year as I like the stripey
patterns and the similar colours to Lily. Gaelic Gig has been very colourful
here, not wishy washy, but very strong bright colours. Perhaps my red soil
has something to do with this fact as a lot of my irises often bloom with
richer colours than the breeders suggests. Either way it suits my wild
bright garden. I have ordered Epicentre from Collen this year as my last
one from R.R. passed away. Perhaps I should follow suit and pot their irises
up as you have done , otherwise I find they shrivel up here into little hard
rocks.Yes I do water them but,,hmmm? Colleen's should suit my climate a
little better. I really like the stripes in Epicentre.Isn't odd but I have
had the most major luck never to suffer the rot brigade here...Hope I
haven't mozzed self now..By the way what variety are those irises that are
often sold as "perrenial irises". I have bought a few over the years and
they give me so much pleasure with their ferocious bloom and variety of
colours? Any one out there in Aus know? I am curious as to what they are
really called. As to whats going to bloom soon: Blue for You has no
increases but a whopppingly huge bloom stalk, one unknown, must be blue but
the wind blew its label out. I will soon know though.Honky Tonk Blues has
sent up a few spikes goody goody...Taja, Rare Treat has bloom stalk,
Stormbringer has too, oh life is good today...:)Hope this finds all the
Aussies enjoying a brilliant spring.. Regards Wendy
