Drooling over recently arrived Tempo Two catalog. Their prices for new
introductions are really quite reasonable in comparison with US
introductions, even with the high inspection and shipping costs, given
the current exchange rate. For example, most of their new TB intros are
~$35 Australian, which is only ~$17.50 US dollars, plus another ~$1.75
US for shipping and another ~$20 US for inspection, per order. Plus
they ship in early April, just in time to avoid those horrid killing
March freezes here.
So my questions are, (1) will these rhizomes be too confused to bloom
the same spring they are planted here, or will they just bloom late?
(2) In the US, nearly all new intros from a given source are priced
pretty much the same the year of introduction, tho different hybridizers
charge different prices. Tempo Two seems to have an unusually wide
range of introduction prices for TBs, from $25 to $50 Australian.
Anybody know how they set their prices?
(3) Do the folks at Tempo Two have pretty good insight into which of
their introductions are most likely to do well in different regions of
the US (hoping for a miracle...)
