REB: Let new plant bloom?

I have some reblooming rhizomes in a new patch that are giving it their best shot now.  One is blooming and two more have bud stalks.  I feel a little sympathetic for them trying to get established before winter and still trying to bloom.  Would cutting off the bud stalks this first year be prudent?
