Hi!
My name is Kathy. I am a transplanted northerner (WI) who has moved south (FL). I have missed not having iris and will be receiving some German Iris soon.
I live in zone 10 I think. I live in Palmetto just south of Tampa but north of Sarasota. I want to grow iris in pots rather than in the ground. The ground here is sand & if you try to mix it with soil the soil all washes away & all you have is the sand. So all my plants go into pots. In WI all I did was plant the iris & they did the rest. What do I need to do with the iris in FL so they will keep blooming? Is there a special soil? Size of pot? Watering? Do they need a cold spell? Any information would be helpful. Thank you, Kathy or kookaburra4u
