    Don't know as I can add much to all the references and descriptions you have
already received. Lots of help available.
    I did go out and measure the existing foliage for you. No real sign of
yellowing for dormancy as yet. Just picked a couple of blades at random and took
measurements. From soil surface to the tip is about 12 to 14 inches. Widest part
of the blade is around 7/16th inch. Definitely a creeping rhizome from the pattern
of growth. ( I am not about to dig one up to check the color of the rhizomes and
nodes this time of the year)
    My records say I took 3 shots of the iris on April 7th, 98. They are not
particularly flattering to the iris. I shoot only slides and since I have not
divided this one for sale in the nursery, no slides have been sent to my web site
manager for transfer to digital.
    Sorry to be so slow in responding, but we are in the process of "wrapping up"
