I. Hoogiana 'Late Amythest'

I have a question about this iris (prompted by seeing a nice picture of it
on Ken Walker's website).

Is it really I. hoogiana? I grew it several years ago, and it appeared to
be at least part tall bearded, with form atypical of I. hoogiana, and a stem
with a single branch. Or is something else now in commerce under this name?

I suspect that rather than a variety, this is a hybrid of some kind. I
haven't been able to find much about it in the iris literature.
