RE: Re: HYB: finding pedigrees

I guess since we read so much, the cost of the R & I's doesn't seem high to
me. When we started "playing" iris most of our iris were from the 70's so
we bought that one and the 60's. Cost me about the same as a good hardback
at the book store. The next year we bought two more, picking up the 50's
and 40's. Finally the 80's came out and we started collecting the yearly
editions. The current price to collect all of the books including the 2000
and 2001 is "ONLY" $118 and seems like a real bargain to me. I keep these
books close to my computer as I use them constantly. Every new iris is
checked out, as are many of the iris talked about or pictured in our talk
groups. I very seldom go more than 2 days without picking up one of them to
check on something.
I am very interested in getting everything on line and have worked for John
as a checker since the start of this project. For me it is the lure of
pedigree research that makes the online files wonderful. A CD is ok and if
available I would order (and pay for it), just as I do the hard covers but,
the online setup is pretty cool. Want to know which iris have Dana's Doggy
Blue in the pedigree? Type it in and voila!! Everything pops up on your
screen. Can't wait until we get the other books online. $10 a year for
access to this information is dirt cheap....where do I send my money?
