So I ask this.....has anyone ever compiled a list of the traits
possessed by the pod and pollen parent? Does this information appear in
The World of Iris or similar reference?
I know from work with the genus Lathyrus that certain traits have
actually been planned out allowing you to cross two things together and
already have a definite answer (or close to one) on what you are going
to get.
I think a reference like this would be most helpful to the beginning
hybridizer.
Thanks!

So, my question would be, do you use the newer iris as the pod or pollen
parent? I was to understand the vigor usually goes with the pod parent.
Anyone have experiences they'd share?
