Hi Rosalie,
Import from France the florist said??? All he had to do was
'import' from Northern New England or, probably, anywhere in
Zone 3. Our 'lilac festival' was the second w/e in June this
year or was it the first w/e in June? I forgot, sorry. Anyway,
peak lilac bloom is anywhere from June 1 to June 10th.
The hard freezes are every day now (24 F, -4 C today). We have
had a little snow. Have to plant those bulbs if I can only find
the electric drill I use...the most beat up around here from
hitting those rocks and tree roots.
Ellen in New Hampshire where the state flower is the LILAC /
USDA Zone 3 / peak foliage in the mountains and the Siberian
foliage is looking GREAT!
