REB: Reportable rebloom

Rosalie,

I would like to stress the above, especially since you are collecting
data for the newest edition of the official RIS Checklist. My
understanding is that rebloom is only "legitimate" when it occurs in a
plant that has already provided bloom earlier in the season *in the same
garden*. When a plant is purchased and planted into a new garden during
the summer and blooms later that same growing season, that late bloom is
not considered rebloom and should not be reported as such. If, however,
that same cultivar blooms the following year in both spring *and* later
in the season *in the same garden*, that would be legitimate rebloom.
The only way for the RIS Checklist to accurately report rebloom on listed
cultivars is for the folks who provide these reports to understand the
definition of reportable rebloom.

I know this has been clarified before, but for the sake of any newbies
who may not be aware of the ins and outs of rebloom, I figured it might
be helpful to offer this explanation.
