Hi,
Arnold, I guess I should be more precise, since cold, cool, warm, and hot are
very relative terms depending upon the experience of the individual. Sort of
relates to the Australia climate posts. To me 60's F would qualify as cool
summer nights, and I think probably cool enough for I. missouriensis to be
happy (apparently so, since you say they thrive for you). I think Eastland,
Texas (did I remember that correctly? I deleted the original question.) tends
to be much warmer at night in summer, and likely warm enough that it could
affect the health of I. missouriensis. It will be interesting to see how the
seedlings do there. I. missouriensis does OK in Albuquerque where summer
temperatures are usually in the 90's during the day from May to September or
sometimes October; however, night time lows are usually down into the 60's or
in low areas commonly into the 50's (it was a bit warmer this year).
Best wishes all,
Dave
