Re: REB:Joan's Pleasre, Renown, and others

Great idea!
I have just cut 4 of 9 blooms stalks of "Lady Emma" and brought them inside
as frost has become a nightly occurrence in my area (Aurora, ON - zone 5b)
however our days can still be sunny, or cloudy, and 11C. Last year there
was one bloom before the frost hit. I'll remember this for next year.

Although, I do have a lovely vase of yellow iris on my kitchen table which
does brighten up these fall days.

bloom, get pollen or pollentate on a rhizome I dig it up and plant it in a
moderate sized pot with a well drqained potting soil. Just be sure to dig
it up plenty of nice long roots on it, but still separate it from the rest
of the clump. There is no need to dig up the whole clump. Then leave it
outside potted up and bring it inside on those frosty nights (or put it in a
cold frame) and put back outside in the morning.
