If it was me I use old lithographic printing plates. But if you don't have that source Roof flashing come in a 10" x 10' roll of Aluminum Flashing.( $5.99 at Lowes) But this would not be stiff enough to stick in hard ground. Can be fastened to some kind of post.

Someone brought it up, possibly your good self, although for some reason I
am thinking Greenfield. Some discussion in the past  about brown siding or
shingles or something.

Nevertheless, carry on. Landfill's are filling even as we speak.
