Hello and welcome to the list Marja. Like you, I had never seen Medians,
I.B.'s or dwarf bearded iris before I started growing my own. The I.B.'s
are delightful. Their foliage is very neat, they form clumps quickly and
look lovely at the front of the border, backed by more shrubby plants.
Mine grow amongst lavenders, penstemmons and hebes, backed by clumps of
TB's and then taller, flowering shrubs (buddleias, abelia, banksia rose,
viburnums, etc.) The garden is a picture here at present, with the
dwarfs iris almost finished flowering, and new TB's opening every day.
I'm sure you will be delighted with your smaller bearded iris when you
see them in flower next spring.
Cheers, Jan Clark, in central Victoria, Australia
