Re: SPEC: I pumila
From: celia storey <storey@aristotle.net>
From everything I've read about I. pumila's preference for cool climates, I
should not be looking at this pot of six four-inch fans after the
outrageously hot summer we "enjoyed" here in Arkansas. But somehow these
SIGNA seedlings survived out on the deck all summer, being watered maybe
once a month but having the benefit of nearly constant maple shade.
They perked up a lot as soon as we dropped out of the high 90s and are
busily growing little leaves even as I write these words.
They're still in the Sunshine potting mix I started them in. Any
advice/ideas on how I might keep these little guys alive? I don't care if
they never bloom -- I'm led to believe that would be a sort of Wonder given
our warm winters -- but I like their petite fans. I just like them.
