Personally, I love the oddball novelty irises. Extra petals, missing
petals, doubles, triples, flat blooming, broken color, variegated
leaves, Space Age, you name it, it will grab my attention. However,
after collecting these types of iris for a number of years now I have
discovered some of them do not live up to their reputation (in
particular, the flat blooming and multiple petaled varieties). All too
often they tend to bloom normally or with misshapen petals. This, I
would consider a fault. In my view, if a cultivar is registered and
released as having multiple standards then I want to see it on a pretty
regular basis, along with good growth, plant habits and health....then I
will be the first in line to have it!!

Odd as they come......
