As Commercial Source Chairman of the Historic Iris Preservation Society I am
charged with keeping current records of the major suppliers of older Iris
cultivars. A list of these suppliers is published in ROOTS, the journal of the
Society and on the HIPS webpage.This list is updated after the first of each
year based on information solicited directly from the sources. For what it may
be worth to you, my experience has been that the nurseries are wrapping up
business for the season about now and they may not yet have decided upon their
terms of trade for next year. Many may not be on the list at all at this busy
time.
I would suggest that perhaps your list might be based on the information
published in the most recent AIS Bulletin. This information might be updated
as changes are published. For sources which do not advertise in the Bulletin,
you may find you get better response to your queries after the first of the
year. In any case, I have found that catalog requests received during the late
fall and winter are rarely acknowledged.
