Dear Jack,
Greetings from the Land of Oz where bloom season is well underway. Welcome to iris-talk too. I am sure that you will enjoy reading the many and varied postings.
I spent a happy few days in Sudbury back in the late 1970's enroute to visit my US mums & dads in Owosso MI where I spent a great year as a Rotary Exchange Student in 1974. Caught the train from Vancouver and stopped in Sudbury.
Stayed with the grandparents of a Canadian exchange student from Walkerton ONT. who was actually staying with my family at the timein Sydney. The grandfather was the Mayor of Sudbury.
He and his lovely wife then drove me to Walkerton where the exchange students family lived. I slept in her bed in Canada while she was sleeping in my bed in Sydney - rather neat! Then on to Owosso for five weeks of summer holidays, catching up with friends etc. before heading home again.
While in Sundbury the Mayor gave me the "key to the city" which was a large silver medallion. I keep in a special keepsake box of happy memories.
Cheers for now, Heather Pryor i*@pip.com.au
