Hello everyone,
I know the above topic has been discussed before, but it has mainly
centered around companion plants for the bearded irises. I now am
finishing about forty' of varying width for the spurias. This is a
limestone
outcropping crowning the hill I live one before it begins to drop steeply
(unmowable, therefore it becomes flowerbed). The one spuria I have
was relocated along this outcropping and loves it. This has been with
no soil amendments or supplemental water after flowering in the spring.
With the advent of cooler weather this fall (about 3 weeks ago), I began
watering again and now have fans about 1' tall. I'm not sure what plants
can take these conditions. Also, my experience with the spuria I have
was that it did not love close company in the form of our native bluestem,
which resulted in its' relocation. Any suggestions or experiences?
TIA

Texas Zone 7 with finally a smidgen of moisture. I was visiting the
flood area this weekend and would loved to have taken a few inches of
some unwelcome rain and distributed over this part of the world!
