I grew up in Cincinnati, went to college in Michigan and Colorado, and lived a
while more in Colorado before moving to Los Angeles, where I've been for 23
years.
I miss the fall colors (I especially remember the valley of the Little Miami
River), and I miss lightning bugs and lightning storms. I do not miss snow, but
I could put up with it again. I am delighted to be (pretty much) away from
summer mugginess.
I did not garden before I got here, so I don't know what it's like not to have
to weed year-round. We do have seasons--mums are just starting, for instance,
and I. unguicularis should bloom soon--just not as drastic as most of the
country. We can grow an extremely wide variety of plants. Wish Siberians and
dwarfs did better, though.
Overall, I like it.
