I grew up in an area where there were many
'widers'--so had had several bites from them through the years--usually made me
sick--flu-like for a day or so--and the bite area never did look too bad--then
we lived in an area where there are Tarantulas--uggggggghhhhhhhhh---especially
when the boys were young and used to bring them home to play with
them--
Now, we have some here which look like the Brown
Recluse--but are supposedly non-poisonous--but the first year here, some kind of
spider bit me on the wrist--developed a 'Raspberry Birthmark' looking
area--itched like the Canadian mosquito bites--the pharmacist sold me Hemorrhoid
medicine to use on it--cleared it up right away--
We have big brown and white ones here--the webs are
beautiful--but strong--and they let me putz around in their area--my garden--and
I let them do their thing in their area--catch bugs--and we get along
fine--
In order to have healthy plants--any kind--you must
have a healthy garden--and that includes some bugs--after all--you are out in
their area--so you should let them live there too--just because you are bigger
than they are, is no reason to do away with them--
Maybe they do not eat that many bugs--but always
carry a tool--so when you are poking around in their area--you can wipe webs
away with a tool--and not your face!!
Besides--any spider who can live through the winter
here--should be allowed to do his own thing!!!
Carryl in western Montana zone 3/4--where
snow is predicted for tomorrow-Saturday
