Hi there,
While the last daffodil is yet to finally curl up it's petals, and a large
clump of blue DI's is still looking good, we are well into TB season here.
One last SDB is still blooming it's silly head off (TRAMP) and MAGIC CHILD
(IB) has bloomed and bloomed.
Too many TB's to name, but some favourites are HANDIWORK, SPIRIT WORLD (at
last), OBA OBA, DIVINE (still going strong, in a huge clump), WAITING FOR
GEORGE (a nice Blyth plicata, with 3 flowers out at once), CHAMPAGNE MOMENTS
(Blyth, lovely big creamy yellow flowers, much nicer than the photo - a
bonus iris from last years order)HE MAN, STORY LINE. Lot's more still to
open, and a few TB seedlings popping up buds.
My 3 seedlings from MARSCAY X AZTEC BURST have fat seed pods on them, but no
pods setting on Barry Blyth's supposedly fertile pumila spotted IB SOUL
SOUND :-(. I may have a pod of MAGIC CHILD X SOUL SOUND (both IB's) but it
is too early to say.
Many of my Grosvenor seedling PCI's have bloomed, with some well worth
keeping, and my LAIs are just starting to bloom for the first time.
Siberians have not done very well - lack of moisture - and I have only a few
buds showing.
I. japonica has given (and is still giving) a good show, and I. tectorum
(blue) is just starting.
My first Daylilies are already blooming. Daylilies and daffodils blooming at
the same time - amazing!
I have photo's to send to Iris-photo's - just need some time.
At the moment I am heavily involved with both gardening and musical
activities, with little time for anything else.
And, of course, I'm busy reading the new catalogues and deciding what to
buy.
Cheers, Jan Clark
