I wrote before to note how EARL OF ESSEX had sent up two fat rebloom stalks,
which are now in full bloom -- to which it has added three more stalks!
Each major rhizome of E of E thus has a stalk now. I wonder what it plans to
bloom on this spring? Folks in my office stop by to marvel at the
eight-budded stalk open on my desk, and I get an occasional spicy whiff of
scent, too.
Another cultivar has caugh the fever too -- AUTUMN ORANGE LIGHT has now put
up a stalk with five tight buds on it, which'll probably open this weekend.
That's the first time this two-year-old clump has deigned to bloom at all.
