The nematodes used for borer control are sent in a sponge.
The sponge is wet and squeezed out in a bucket, which is then
poured onto the iris beds. I think timing is critical to this method
being successful. THe nematodes do not overwinter, and can be
pricey. These are a specific type of nematode that attack certain
grubs. There is a huge amount of information on this in the archives
with a lot more detail.
