The biggest problem with the blue bearded pink programs is getting rid of the
blue in the flower, just as it is the main problem with blue bearded
"whites." Most of the seedlings I have gotten from this breeding where pinkie
blues. As one might expect the ones with the bluest beards also had the
greatest blue influence in the petal color. Anyone breeding in this group
will need to grow lots of seedlings and have the ability to distinguish
between incredibly minor differences in color. I would guess this is a ten
year program.
