Two weeks ago I mentioned that I thought all <iris-talk> messages could
be found published on other servers. John asked me check up on this. I
spent some more time on the computer at my work, where I thought I had seen
replication of <iris-talk> messages, and could not find what I thought I saw
previously. I now think I was just following links from other servers, and
I didn't notice that I had been taken right back to egroups. What is
correct is that the link (title) to iris-talk is mentioned in many
discussion groups, but not the messages. I'm sorry if I misled anyone.
Some discussion groups are not "open" to viewing unless you are a member
of their forum, others are open like iris-talk is. Part of what I was
saying earlier was just to say that we are "public" and it's very easy for
anyone to see our messages. Because our iris-talk messages come through
email, I usually don't think about the fact that anything I say is available
for anyone on Internet to see.
