TB: IMMORTALITY, wavy stalks

<it's possible the stalks grew too fast in the summer heat. We 
got 
abundant rain last week. You did also?>
 
Betty (and Donald) - No we did not.  We haven't had 'abundant rain' in my area of southeastern Michigan all summer!  The grass is brown, the soil so dry it's cracked.  My neighbor is too busy to bother even sprinkling regularly (except for the built-in's in the grass).  She did sprinkle, however, the moment she saw all the buds, but the thick, wavy stalks were already grown.  I'll have to ask her if she did anything unusual.  Still a mystery to me!
