rains, warm days and cool nights, then it would follow the pattern I

Donald - We've had many cool nights this summer, but along with balmy days. Very few hot/humid dog days (except during the BLACKOUT!), which are more typical of summer in this part of MI. However, like I told Betty in my earlier post, NO RAIN to speak of (and certainly not 'good rains'!). Maybe my neighbor 'did' sprinkle those clumps. Will ask.
Determined to get to the bottom of this!
