I think the question about fall fertilizing needs an answer from some
experienced person in the locality, which in this case would be Utah. It
makes a difference where one lives. Jim Hedgecock, Comanche Acres Gardens,
located near St. Joseph, Missouri, sells (or at least used to sell) fertilizer
for iris, and the label gave directions for spring and/or fall fertilizing.
In that locality, at least, the recommendation was to apply in
October.....................
