Re: COMP Avoiding Yahoo

Like Robin Shadlow, I have cable access for which I pay a hefty fee I consider
barely worth the value received. My accounts on both Iris-talk and
Iris-photos are set to "no-mail" and I access both sites only through the
Mallorn archive. thus avoiding the Yahoo intrusive presence entirely.

One additional, very welcome, feature I have on my setup is the installed
Symantec Norton Internet Security which screens incoming e-mail, outgoing
e-mail and advertizing. All the Yahoo ads are reduced to a simple "
[advertisement] " so I am not inundated by the colorful, distracting
information I didn't want in the first place.
