Wow, you guys (and gals) sure can get way off subject in a very short
time...lol. You have gone from Bald rhizomes to eating fish within hours!
This is too funny!
Bald Rhizomes....Occasionally a variety will throw an increase that is quite
often on the large side, is totally devoid of any increases, and there are no
roots either on the heel. The heel area is, for lack of a better term,
"bald". These irises do nothing when they are planted except slowly die.
I threw away about 8 of these when digging my yard this past weekend.
It does not have anything to do with bugs, hair or trout.
Someone once said to make slashes in it and put growth hormones on it and
replant it and it will sprout roots and grow, but it never worked when I tried
it. Another suggested burying it upside down for a while, but that also did
not work. Someone else said to let it sit on a brick in full sun for a week
and then it will grow when planted in the ground, but that did not work
either. No, when we get 'em, we pitch them now.

Patrick Orr, you used the term "Bald rhizomes." I've been into iris culture
a
long time, but that's a new one on me. Will you explain what you mean?
Thanks,
Arnole
