I'm just going to commandeer Linda Arizona's post above to start a new  
thread with a real subject line here just in case someone else would care to  
contribute some thoughts on this process, or related.
 
I suggested to Linda Mann who apparently can't do much strenuous work  that 
she might in future like to create some beds with this layering  method, which 
is gradual and uses natural waste materials, and amounts to  composting in 
place.
