Re Bathroom cleaning powder again

2 weeks ago, I noticed with horror ugly grey aphid type matter
(later identified as White fly and aphid and possibly dead) on
Ledas Lover (TB). I tore inside for the Jeyes fluid disinfectant and
wiped the offending matter away and then sprinkled the bathroom
powder lavishly. The plant looks fine now. But today I see
on Erhlene Richardson (TB and blooming for the first time for me) on
the leaves grey ashy looking stuff. It hasnt affected the bloom
which is lovely but would you advise using the powder again? This
is new to me as the only thing that has troubled all the old iris are
snails and they withstand them no problem. Our mentor in Maclean
said he couldnt garden without household bleach apart from rot what
else do you use bleach for in the garden. Please tell if you have a
moment.

Sally in S Africa where all the old iris are blooming much better
and the new ones with names are holding their own!
