To Lois Rose:
I am new at e-mail responses, since I too am a lurker, listener, whatever.
I wanted to respond to your message since I too am in Central Virginia,
in fact I am the new, by default, President of the Central Virginia Iris
Society, newly affiliated as an AIS chapter. Are you a member of AIS?
Where exactly do you live? Are you going to attend the Region IV meeting
of AIS in Suffolk on Oct 11-12? If so I would like to meet you there.
Today I think I finished tilling my new beds for the year, . . .I hope.
I have newly acquired siberian irises to plant, a few more bearded iris
to plant and who knows (???) what the region IV auction has in store for
those who are newly into iris planting and whose eyes and desires seem
larger than the yard into which they will be planted.
At least my husband, Bill, still believes that for every bit of roundup
he sprays, he has less lawn to mow, since he takes no responsibility for
all the new flower beds I have developed in the last 1.5 years.
