Hi Everyone!
I'm wondering what the chances are of ever accurately identifying some of the
old irises I have inherited here and there. I joined HIPS earlier this year
to get some ideas, but I only have two issues of Roots so far. (I LOVE that
journal and I got such a kick out of it the other day when I went back to
look at one and I saw by-lines from Clarence, Sharon, Chris, Mike, Dave and
some other names I think I've seen on this list--
anyone who loves to read about irises should get this journal.)
Anyway, I'm slowly ordering back issues of Roots and hoping I can at least
get an idea of what I may have, but what I want to know is, am I on a wild
goose chase? And is it worth it or not to rescue old unknowns from the burn
piles?

nights and Emerald Star (which I got from the Silverbergs as a bonus) is
putting up some bloom stalks (is this normal?) and I can't wait to see what
it looks like. jforte21@aol.com
