Is there any way to guess from appearance of the plant whether it is diploid
or tet? i have a huge clump of Japanese out in the death zone/garden that I
grew from a seed pack from Park's years ago - the only survivor. From your
comments, I assume it is diploid, but wonder if there is a way to tell by
looking. I know that with some of the tetraploid/diploid daylilies it is
obvious, and diploid and tet TBs look different.
The seeds were called 'Kaempferi hybrids', which, as explained before,
doesn't mean anything, but does that give a clue to ploidy?
