Erwinia carotovora is listed as the causal organism for bacterial
soft rot int the World of Iris. As I remember from the smell when
culturing it in plant pathology class, that must be correct.
Blights are usually the common term for diseases caused by fungi.
I've never heard of Southern blight in iris, but certainly have in
corn (Helmenthosporium maydis).
