I have tons of rot... as does everyone I know here - from novice to very
experienced grower. Some have less than others... and not everyone loses the
same plants. Sometimes the source is the constant... sometimes there's not
constant that we can determine.
At the risk of getting toasted, I would say that if you grow bearded iris
(I've lost not just talls, but ALL types of bearded, with the possible
exception of SDB's) you have to expect a certain amount of rot. And if you
can be philosophical about it (ROT HAPPENS), you will live a long and healthy
life.
