Sorry to contradict ( a bit!), but HIPS has a definite order in which one
should proceed when pursuing historic irises.

1) All inquiries should to FIRST to HIPSource@aol.com, Anner Whitehead.

2) HIPSource will attempt to locate a commercial source. If she cannot, she
will refer the seeker to the Databank. NOTE: THIS is a service for HIPS
members! Others will be helped as HIPSource has time. This is just one of
the benefits of membership in the Historic Iris Preservation Society---a
BARGAIN at $5.00 year.

3) Finally, referrals are made to Helen Schueler to publish requests in the
Locator after the first two steps have failed.

And, irises registered AFTER 1969 (less than thirty years old) will NOT be
listed in the HIPS databank.

HIPS personnel are happy, indeed, eager to help folks find their desired
irises. But PLEASE lets remember that these are volunteers with finite time
and resources...and this procedure has been designed to help maximize the
productive use of both.

Cheers,
