I grow mine in large plastic tubs, about 14" across, and 12" deep. I mixed a
very well draining potting compost with extra sand, and they are happy as
pigs in clover and preparing to flower. We don't have a very high rainfall
here (about 24" per year). If you get a lot of rain you may have to protect
them more.
