Dayton, Ohio? Do we know each other through MVIS?? Your name doesn't ring
any bells. :(

Anyhooo...I grow arilbreds in the same beds as my other irises and they do
just fine. The halfbreds & 3/4-breds go dormant in the summer, so you
don't want to give them any water during the dry spells.....they love it
dry. I haven't had any 3/4-breds bloom yet, but all the halfbreds have
bloomed by the time they're 2 years old (so far) which ain't all that bad.

If you're ready for arilbreds I'd recommend getting some 1/4-breds and
1/2-breds and see how well they do for you, and how well you like them.
And then you can add more later if they grow well. Some of my 1/2-breds
have the obnoxious tendency to flop over. I don't know if this is their
fault or my fault.
