Some time ago Sharon McAllister (Arilbred hybridizer of some renown in New
Mexico) advised me to treat ABs as you would treat TBs with perhaps some
better drainage. They are more susceptible to leaf spot and (sometimes) rot,
so giving them more space for air circulation would be good. They grow like
crazy so the extra space is doubly good for them. Summer humidity where you
are may be a problem.

I did not let mine go dormant this summer and they appear to be as happy as
pigs in ... <grin>. Next spring will be the second year for them, and I am
definitely going to have to divide them.
