Hi Jan,
Basically you just imerse the whole pot in water so that it comes up a couple of
inches over the soil level, loosen any seedlings you want to remove, and the
remove the pot allowing the soil to resettle as the water drains. Hopefully
everything else stays fairly put.
Aztec Burst is not my best grower, but Hilary Johns from Redcliffes (Mildura
way) was here the other week and apparently hers grows like a weed. Maybe it
likes very alkaline soils. Bahloo is not my best grower either and I know that
likes very alkaline soil.
Yes we will have Scented Bubbles listed this year. I think it's very nearly
perfect.
PS For the USA folks, Bahloo is probably the very best iris never to be imported
into the USA. It's an absolutely brilliant yellow, but with no gold tonings,
normally a great grower, a long bloom season and almost always reblooms. You may
remember a rave writeup in the AIS journal earlier this year from a group who
saw it growing in NZ
Colleen Modra on a very wet cold and windy day. Had 40mm in last 24 hrs, prob
that much more to come overnight and tomorrow.

How does Aztec Burst perform for you there Colleen? It rots here, as do a
few other Blyth irises. One of my seedlings from it also has crown rot. It
should throw some interesting seedlings though.

Could you outline this briefly for me Colleen, as I am not yet an AIS
member? I have 4 pots left to plant out, and one of these is doing as you
describe.
Will SCENTED BUBBLES be available from your catalogue this year?
Cheers, Jan
