We had some rhizomes laying in flats on a covered porch waiting to be planted
in pots. A few days later we noticed "chunks" missing out of the rhizomes
right at the base of the fans. We thought earwigs, but a friend of ours, a
fellow irisarian, told us it was crickets. Is this so and if so, what can we
do about crickets??
Also, in our production bed, we have recently noticed caterpillars chewing on
the fans.
